NORTHSTAR DIGITAL & PHYSICAL CARD
A personally owned prepaid card, planned for eligible Northstar members.
Northstar Business OS is seeking early-access approval for Stripe Consumer Prepaid Debit Card Issuing. The program is not yet available for enrollment, payment, card issuance, deposits, or purchases.
Personal cardholder ownership
The proposed card belongs to the eligible individual—whether a business owner or employee—not their employer. An employer would not control employees' personal card spending or funds. Issuer-approved identity verification, eligibility, risk checks, and program rules apply.
Digital and physical cards
The proposed program includes a virtual prepaid card and an optional physical Northstar card, subject to Stripe and issuing-bank approval, production and shipping arrangements, activation requirements, and final customer terms. Apple Pay and Google Wallet integration would depend on separate applicable wallet approvals. Cards cannot be issued or shipped today.
One-time $49 setup proposal
Northstar's proposed setup charge is $49 once per eligible individual cardholder, not $49 per employer or a second $49 for a person who is also a business owner. This amount, its disclosure timing, refund policy, and collection process require issuer and Stripe approval. New card-setup checkout is unavailable while the consumer prepaid program is unapproved. Existing payment records remain preserved.
Company payroll and storage prerequisites
After an approved launch, the verified Primary Account Owner's own genuinely activated Northstar card is intended to satisfy their company's software-side card requirement without a second card purchase. It would not authorize payroll by itself: tax, banking, funding, security, payroll, and other regulatory readiness remain separate. Employees' personal cards do not grant employer-wide entitlements. The Company Storage Wallet is separately paused and is not activated by this planned card offering.
Funding and account information
Any Northstar Wallet balance or transaction history must reflect a real, approved consumer financial account and Stripe/provider activity. Available funding methods, identity verification, account terms, dispute protections, fees, and delivery costs will be disclosed if approved. Stripe merchant Checkout payments are not consumer prepaid account deposits. Northstar is not representing itself as a licensed bank.
Not included in this launch
There is no cashback or rewards offer, no promised interchange revenue share, no $2 debit-card cash-out service, and no custom Northstar Scan & Pay merchant network. These are excluded, not pending customer benefits.
Program availability and disclosures
Stripe Consumer Prepaid Issuing early access has not been approved for Northstar. Bank-issued prepaid account terms, mandatory fee disclosures, privacy notices, and enrollment consents will be presented before eligible enrollment or charges after their formal approval. This page describes a proposed future service, not an application, bank-account offer, or promise to issue a card.
